KGM UK removes the barriers to electric pick-up ownership

KGM Motors UK, formerly SsangYong, has highlighted the all-new Musso EV as a major opportunity for fleets, tradespeople and business users looking to make the move into electric pick-up ownership without compromising on capability, comfort or cost, at the GREENFLEET Mythbuster EV Rally 2026.

The all-new Musso EV is the UK’s most affordable electric pick-up, priced at just £39,995, including VAT the £5,000 Plug-in Van Grant. In addition, it delivers significant company car tax benefits with the UK’s lowest Benefit-in-Kind charge of any commercial vehicle, from just £30 per month in 2026-27.

Speaking to GREENFLEET during the Mythbuster EV Rally, Clive Messenger, Sales Director at KGM UK, said: “The Musso EV has been developed to address some of the most common concerns around electric commercial vehicles – balancing affordability, towing capability, range, payload and everyday usability.”

“Electric pick-up trucks are still a new and emerging vehicle category in the UK, and they’ve been introduced at a time when there have been significant changes to personal taxation on double-cab pick-ups. When we decided to bring the Musso EV into the market, it was very important to us to make it the same price as our award-winning combustion-engine diesel Musso range, so the customer can decide what powertrain is right for them depending on their own circumstances.”

“It does everything you need. It’s got 2.3-tonne towing capacity, a 240-mile-plus range, 690kg of payload capacity. It’s just a fantastic vehicle to drive with dynamic 4WD and direct EV power, and people can be confident in it. On top of that, there are some significant taxation benefits to the individual if they go electric. Regarding BIK, the Musso EV has the lowest of any commercial vehicle in the UK – just £30 a month for a 20% taxpayer – that’s less than a pound a day!”

Messenger concluded; “The Musso EV ticks a lot of boxes, and it is a real opportunity for a wide range of users. We are seeing that it is being considered not just by National Fleet & SME operators, but also by private and lifestyle customers.”

The all-new Musso EV forms part of KGM’s growing electrified line-up and represents a significant step for the brand as it brings electric power to the pick-up sector. With its combination of affordability, low Benefit-in-Kind, towing capability, payload and SUV-like comfort, KGM believes the model is well placed to appeal to fleets and businesses looking for a capable, cost-effective transition into electric mobility.
