LKQ Euro Car Parts is bringing Starline’s innovative BlackStar coated discs to UK workshops for the first time, providing technicians with highly durable, corrosion resistant braking products that can save on installation time.
Using electrophoretic technology – a process where paint is bonded to metal surfaces using an electric current – the BlackStar coating provides a durable protective layer against corrosion, while removing the need for cleaning before installation. It is applied to withstand over 120 hours of salt spray exposure, supporting longer service life in demanding conditions such as cold and wet UK winters.
An aftermarket first, the BlackStar coating on the friction face burns off during brake use, while it remains on the top hat and the outer rim, protecting the disc from the elements.
The Starline range combines corrosion-resistant brake discs with rigorously tested brake pads, which are ECE-R90 approved and supported by a 24-month / 24,000-mile warranty that also includes wear-and-tear cover.
Starline brake pads are manufactured to meet current regulatory standards and undergo more than 260 quality checks. Where applicable, they include OE-matched chamfers and fitting accessories to support straightforward installation and consistent braking performance.
The Starline braking range adds extensive new coverage to LKQ Euro Car Parts’ catalogue of over 100,000 parts, with availability supported by its nationwide branch network – helping workshops source the right part quickly and keep vehicles on the road. Both pads and discs are supplied in packaging designed to reduce plastic use, with materials that can be easily recycled.
Starline Braking sits within the Emotive portfolio, for which LKQ is the sole distributor in the UK. Launched in 2024, Emotive is a one-stop-shop for workshops across Europe, uniting a number of the aftermarket’s most respected brands.
