Each caliper is manufactured using either aluminium or cast-iron cores, depending on the OE design, and finished with zinc or powder coating to provide long-term corrosion resistance. Critical internal components, including steel or phenolic pistons, square-cut seals and precision-machined seal grooves, are designed to ensure smooth piston movement, effective retraction and consistent braking feel.
WAI places significant emphasis on testing and validation. Calipers are subjected to extreme pressure leak detection, high-cycle durability testing, piston retraction and residual drag testing, as well as corrosion resistance salt spray tests. This ensures reliable operation under real-world conditions, from high-load braking to prolonged exposure to road salt and moisture.
Attention to detail extends to the finer components. Polished guide pins, OE-matched milled threads and anti-seize grease are used to support correct installation and long-term serviceability. All mating surfaces are precision milled to create a sealed, robust assembly capable of performing under extreme temperatures and pressures.
