Acclaimed stand-up comedian Scott Bennett has been announced as the special guest entertainer for the Automechanika Birmingham Garage Awards 2026, bringing his signature warmth, wit and relatable humour to one of the automotive aftermarket’s most anticipated evenings.
Hosted by the Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) and headline sponsored by LKQ Euro Car Parts, the awards will take place on Wednesday 3 June 2026 at the NEC Birmingham, as part of the UK Garage & Bodyshop Event 2026.
Scott Bennett is widely regarded as one of the UK’s fastest-rising stand-up stars. Since starting his comedy career in 2009, he has built a reputation for sharply observed, brilliantly delivered material that resonates with audiences across the country. His recent shows Stuff and Blood Sugar Baby are currently touring the UK, with the latter recently recorded for BBC Radio 4.
His previous shows, Leap Year and Relax, were both nominated for ‘Best Show’ at the Leicester Comedy Festival, while his debut hour About a Roy earned critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe, where it was shortlisted for the Amused Moose Comedy Award and named one of the top ten shows of the festival.
A familiar face and voice across UK media, Scott has appeared on Live at the Apollo, performed at the prestigious Royal Variety Performance, and featured at the Teenage Cancer Trust shows at the Royal Albert Hall. He is also a regular guest on BBC Radio 4 favourites including The News Quiz and The Now Show, and has supported major names such as Rob Brydon, Jason Manford and John Bishop on tour.
Known for his down-to-earth storytelling and ability to find humour in everyday life, Scott’s performance is set to bring a lively and entertaining dimension to an evening dedicated to recognising the very best of the aftermarket.
Mark Field, Chief Executive of the IAAF, said: “The Automechanika Birmingham Garage Awards are all about celebrating the incredible work happening across our sector, and it’s important that we do that in a way that reflects the spirit of the industry, hardworking, passionate and full of personality. Scott Bennett is the perfect addition to the evening and we’re delighted to have him join us for what promises to be a fantastic night.”
With a record number of entries in 2026, the Automechanika Garage Awards continue to grow in stature, recognising excellence across multiple categories including Garage of the Year and Best Community Initiative.
The event brings together garage owners, technicians, suppliers and industry leaders for an evening of celebration, networking and recognition, and with Scott Bennett taking to the stage, guests can expect plenty of laughter alongside the accolades.
