Formed on November 5 th , 2017, by five independent Motor Dealers and an industry expert, the IMDA is now widely recognised as a respected and reputable association for Independent used car, LCV, and Independent Franchise Motor Dealers across the UK.
With over 900 members and growing every month the associations aim is to provide its members with
support in the day to day issues that affect their businesses. Through the IMDA’s support, recognition and buying power the IMDA will help guide dealers through the complex areas of Compliance, Legislation, Employment Law and much more, whilst helping you gain a competitive edge with exclusive offers through our comprehensive approved and vetted partner list, by gaining better value for money on products and services.
Not only can being an Independent prove to be a very lonely experience, but it also seems as if your opinion is never being listened to. The IMDA have made this a thing of the past. As a group of Independents our voice has become loud and clear, and we can assure you that our collective voice will be heard, listened to and more widely respected as the association continues to grow.
When external influences challenge our businesses, such as changes to the use of trade plates rule, fuel
taxation, FCA legislation and business rates – The IMDA will continue to work hard on the behalf of its members to lobby government alongside fellow industry associations to give independent dealers ‘a voice at the table’
The IMDA ensures that by working closely together with fellow Industry Associations & Influencers we will help influence industry changes and government legislation that affects the Motor Industry.
The IMDA will continue to obtain members views surrounding issues that affect business through survey’s and direct contact. The results will enable us to conclude the opinion of the majority and take the necessary action towards lobbying.
The IMDA is a ‘wakeup call’ for the large corporations who have taken no notice of the voice of the
Independent’s as individuals. Using ‘Strength in Numbers’ The IMDA will ensure that your voice at last WILL be heard.
As public awareness of The IMDA gains traction the importance of being a member of this great Association will become clear. The IMDA encourages members to display The IMDA Logo proudly on their websites and use on all marketing material produced as it will help members be recognised by the general public as a business they can trust.
