Independent tyre and automotive service provider New Bridgegate Tyres (NB Tyres) has enhanced its operational capacity, service offerings, and regional coverage across the North East following a £500,000 investment programme completed over the past twelve months.
The investment has enabled the Durham-based business to open two new service centres, expand its mobile servicing operations, centralise infrastructure and create new roles across the organisation. Its strengthened network, which now includes three HiQ Tyres & Autocare franchise locations and two eponymous depots in
Middlesbrough and Barnard Castle, improves response times for both private motorists and commercial fleets.
NB Tyres has also made investment in infrastructure and logistics, opening a new head office in Durham. The facility includes a centralised warehouse capable of storing up to 1,000 truck tyres, allowing closer coordination between the company’s five service centres, more efficient stock management, and improved support for customers across the North East.
Mobile servicing capability has also been significantly expanded as part of the programme. The company has added to its fleet six new mobile fitting vans and a 12-tonne logistics truck – capable of delivering up to 200 tyres in bulk supply directly to customer sites – bringing the total service fleet to 26 vehicles, operating on a 24 hour basis.
The company’s strong commercial performance and investment is reflected by a 20% revenue growth in 2025, driven by fleet and commercial demand alongside the continued expansion of its retail customer operations.
James Bowman, Director, NB Tyres, said: “The last twelve months have been about building the right foundations for sustainable growth. We have invested heavily in infrastructure, people and systems, and have created the capacity to operate at greater scale while maintaining the service quality, responsiveness and
accountability that define us as an independent business. Our goal is to establish ourselves as the leading presence in vehicle servicing across the North East, and this is a major step towards achieving just that.”
The company’s growth has also necessitated the creation of 13 new job roles across service, management and operational functions, including two dedicated service and standards management positions designed to improve consistency, training and communication between customers, service centres and head office.
Guy Wilks, Director, NB Tyres, added: “Being an independent company allows us to work directly with manufacturers while tailoring services to customer needs, and our new service and standards managers are key to this. We now have the scale, infrastructure and geographic coverage to support any type of customer, while operating at a level that rivals much larger national providers. We are now the largest commercial service provider in the North East, and with our new infrastructure in place, NB Tyres is well positioned to continue its ambitious plans throughout 2026.”
