MANN-FILTER, the global premium brand of filtration expert MANN+HUMMEL, has been recognized as a top innovator by the European Association of Automotive Suppliers, CLEPA. The award-winning technology features new CO₂-reduced filters that partially replace crude oil through the targeted use of renewable raw materials. These innovative filters are part of the Ludwigsburg-based family company’s comprehensive sustainability strategy. Additional initiatives to promote more sustainable mobility are already in the pipeline. Hasmeet Kaur, President Division Transportation at MANN+HUMMEL, accepted the award on November 18 in Brussels.
“Receiving the CLEPA Innovation Award for Sustainability makes us very proud and confirms that our commitment to climate-friendlier innovation is making an impact,” says Kaur. “By using lignin, a renewable, plant-based material, into our cellulose filter media, we’ve achieved a game-changing breakthrough that allows us to reduce CO₂ emissions and crude oil usage significantly, without compromising performance. We’ve seamlessly integrated this sustainable improvement into our existing product lines, offering our customers a climate-friendlier solution with no change in price or functionality. With
verified environmental savings and the potential to benefit millions of vehicles, this is a major milestone on our journey toward decarbonizing mobility.”
The CLEPA award serves as both motivation and obligation for MANN+HUMMEL to continue developing innovative and sustainable solutions for the mobility of the future.
