Delphi, a brand of PHINIA, has strengthened its commitment to raising awareness of braking safety by becoming an Associated Partner of Brake, the road safety charity, as part of the continued development of its UK campaign, Make Some Noise. Delphi – Built for Silence campaign.
The new partnership will see Delphi support Brake’s work campaigning for safer roads and supporting people and families affected by road crashes, while providing another platform for
Delphi to take its braking safety message beyond the aftermarket and reach a wider audience.
Launched earlier this year, Delphi’s Make Some Noise UK campaign is an industry-wide aftermarket movement designed to raise awareness of the importance of choosing quality braking components and encourage workshops, technicians, distributors and motorists to think beyond price when it comes to one of the most safety-critical systems on a vehicle.
At the heart of the campaign is a focus on quality, correct fitment, technical knowledge and regular maintenance – all factors that contribute to safe, consistent braking performance.
Aliya Lam, Country Director UK at PHINIA, said: “Braking safety is something we all have a responsibility to take seriously, which is why our partnership with Brake, the road safety charity, feels like such a natural fit for the Delphi brand and our UK local Make Some Noise campaign. We want to help raise awareness of the role that quality braking components, correct fitment and regular maintenance play in keeping people safe on the road.
“For Delphi, this is about more than simply supplying quality parts. It’s about working with the industry – and beyond – to promote better understanding, better choices and better braking performance, from the workshop right through to the driver.
“Brake safety is something that is personally very important to me, so being able to support an organisation dedicated to making our roads safer makes this partnership particularly meaningful.”
Through Make Some Noise, Delphi UK is encouraging the industry to have more conversations about what good braking really looks like. The campaign highlights the engineering behind quality braking components, from application-specific friction materials and five-layer brake pad construction through to testing, training and correct installation.
It also aims to give workshops the knowledge and confidence to communicate the importance of braking quality to their customers, helping motorists better understand why the components fitted to their vehicles matter.
Delphi supports this message through its wider workshop offering, including Delphi Academy braking training, Masters of Motion technical content and its on-the-road Tech Vans, helping technicians develop the skills required to diagnose, fit and maintain braking systems correctly.
The partnership with Brake will now help Delphi take that conversation further, connecting the technical expertise of the automotive aftermarket with the wider objective of improving road safety.
Ross Moorlock, Brake’s CEO, added: “I am delighted to welcome Delphi as an Associated Partner with Brake. Safe vehicles are an integral part of the safe system approach to road safety. Quite simply, safe vehicles save lives.
“This partnership will contribute to Brake’s work campaigning for road safety for everyone – whoever we are and however we travel – and crucially, supporting families who have been impacted by road crashes. Thank you to Delphi for joining us.”
