“The theme of the day was teamwork and the importance of aligning the objectives and relationships of the whole supply chain,” explained DENSO’s UK and Eire Sales Manager, Kevin Peacocke. “To this end, as well as direct customers, the team were joined by service suppliers, representatives of OESAA and their garage forum and senior managers from within DENSO. In addition however, we also wanted to raise funds for the important work that BEN does to help industry colleagues in need.
“The format for the day was a four ball tournament, with our guests split in terms of ability, into 12 groups, each with a member of the DENSO team making up one of the foursome, with all the major prizes awarded accordingly.
“A few individual competitions were run during the day and, although it was unfortunate that no-one scooped the £25,000 prize for the hole in one competition, trophies were awarded for the longest drive and nearest the pin. The ultimate winners were Patrick and Tom Devine of AP Air, Iain Knox from CD Group, and our very own Sales & Marketing Director, Jean Claude dal Grande. So, congratulations to them all.”
Being blessed with perfect golfing weather the team enjoyed a fantastic day on the course and were rewarded on their return to the clubhouse, with an evening’s entertainment with a ‘Peaky Blinders’ racing themed event. During the evening there were a number of activities that allowed guests to generously raise money for BEN to help those in the industry who are less fortunate.
“The combined event was a great success as it gave us the opportunity to not only thank our customers for their ongoing support, but also give something back to the industry by donating the £2,510 raised in the evening to BEN, which was both positive and inspirational. So, we’d like to thank all those who attended and played an active part in making it such a memorable day,” Peacocke concluded.
