Exol Lubricants has been shortlisted for the Environmental Award at the 2026 CAT Awards, recognising the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible manufacturing within the industry.
The shortlist nomination comes hot on the heels of a landmark year for Exol, which saw the business honoured with a prestigious King’s Award 2025 for Enterprise for International Trade. It also follows Exol’s success at the 2024 CAT Awards, where the brand was named winner of the Environmental Award, underlining its continued leadership in this area.
Exol’s environmental strategy is focused on long-term investment, efficiency and reducing waste across its operations. Initiatives include the installation of solar panels at its Wednesbury headquarters, significantly cutting carbon emissions and energy costs, alongside the use of the Exol barge to transport raw materials via UK waterways, reducing road miles and associated emissions.
A major milestone in Exol’s sustainability journey has been the introduction of a state-of-the-art automated liquid transfer ‘pigging’ system at its Rotherham blending plant. The system recovers residual product from pipelines, dramatically reducing waste, increasing yields and improving manufacturing efficiency, while supporting full traceability through integrated process controls.
Being shortlisted once again reflects Exol’s belief that sustainability should be embedded into everyday business decisions rather than treated as a one-off. The company continues to invest in technology, infrastructure, staff and processes that deliver measurable environmental benefits while maintaining the high product quality and service levels its customers expect.
The CAT Awards Environmental category celebrates businesses that demonstrate best practice in environmental responsibility, efficiency and circular-economy principles across the aftermarket.
Exol Lubricants will attend the CAT Awards ceremony in February, where the winners will be announced.
