Green push at VGroup open event

Milton Keynes-based V-Group held an open day at K1, its new headquarters based near Kiln Farm in Milton Keynes.

The event was supported by various dealer groups that VGroup supplies. It was opened by Chairman and Founder Martyn Nash alongside CMO (and CAT contributor) Yiano Ioannou.

Entitled ‘Going Green’, the event lived up to it’s name by hosting presentations from speakers including Peter Eggeman from the Energy Saving Trust and Lucy Saunders from the TfL Healthy Streets initiative. Both gave advice on how to improve the efficiency of fleets and so improve urban air quality.

The firm’s own transport manager Paul Briggs stepped on stage to explain the various moves that VGroup has put in place to reduce it’s carbon footprint, while presentations from representatives of BMW and Mercedes explained their own electrification strategies.

Mark Field of the IAAF made a short presentation about the role of his organisation moving into an era of electrification and ‘connected cars’

“We do genuinely care about what we are doing here,” said Yiano Ioannou. “We’re focussed as a business to go green, this is not just a vanity exercise for us”.
