LKQ Euro Car Parts, the leading supplier of parts, consumables and added value services to the UK aftermarket, has announced a significant evolution of its operations, designed to bring the company even closer to its customers and enhance its industry-leading operational capabilities.
The development will see an increase by a third of customer-facing account manager positions, reflecting LKQ Euro Car Parts’ desire to provide even more frequent face-to-face contact and expert guidance in solving customers’ business challenges and facilitating growth.
In addition to the expansion of its account management teams, LKQ Euro Car Parts is introducing dedicated operational roles to further strengthen its market-leading position for parts availability and rapid order fulfilment.
This move aims to create deeper domain expertise within the organisation and effectively splits formally dual account management and operational roles into discrete areas of specialisms, which will be unique within the UK aftermarket.
Kevan Wooden, CEO of LKQ UK & Ireland, commented on the changes: “This is all about getting the best out of our people by allowing them to focus on what they excel at.
“At the same time, the market is evolving rapidly, and we need to reflect that by moving to a model that is fit for the future and capable of supporting our customers as they lean into the opportunities and challenges of tomorrow.
“By increasing the number of colleagues we have in customer-facing roles, we’re giving our customers more access to our expertise and better support in their local branches – all while doubling down on our operational strengths to ensure we remain the industry leader in getting the basics right.“
The new structure will create exciting career development opportunities for existing colleagues, with clear pathways for progression in both sales and operations.
The changes include the creation of new account manager positions, as well as the introduction of Area Sales Manager and Area Operations Manager roles. It also involves an enhanced focus on operational excellence in branch management, providing new career progression opportunities for existing colleagues. Some current operational management roles have been replaced by field-based and customer-facing roles.
