More than 80% of automotive managers have found it increasingly difficult to recruit skilled staff following the pandemic, according to data sourced from Autotech Recruit, with 90% saying that that workshop and technical roles are the most difficult to fill. The IMI also reported that job postings for all automotive occupations for March 2022 showed a 51% increase in postings year-on-year.
Commenting on the new team-up with Autotech Recruit, General Manager for Eurorepar Car Service Nick Taylor said: “One of the main workshop capacity constraints that we see is technician availability. Holidays, sickness, leavers and recruitment issues all contribute to the ability to sell productive hours. This, coupled with an escalating skills shortage across the automotive sector, is causing more than a few headaches for garage owners.
“As a network, we are always looking for new ways to support our members and remove barriers to success. This partnership is just another example of that ethos in action. Working with a trusted industry leader like Autotech Recruit enables our members to plan for known periods of capacity shortfall, and I urge all centres to take full advantage of this service.”
Eurorepar garages can access the service and book technicians via a dedicated Autotech Recruit portal.
