The AA has extended a major partnership with LKQ Euro Car Parts, which will continue to be the first-line supplier of batteries, parts and paint to its 2,600 mobile mechanic patrols for another six years.
Under the new agreement, The AA will continue to benefit from LKQ’s market-leading logistics network, integrated digital ordering systems and robust supply chain management. Next-day delivery, facilitated from LKQ’s one-million-square foot National Distribution Centre in Tamworth, will help The AA’s patrols to keep a robust inventory of parts ready for the millions of breakdowns they attend each year in support of the 16 million AA members in the UK. The AA’s network of more than 700 garages used for servicing, repairs and MOTs will also benefit from the new deal.
The AA will also utilise LKQ’s Bosch-branded battery support, offering exclusive access to its near shore manufactured OE equivalent product with outstanding quality and consumer branding. Additionally, The AA can access scrap battery and waste drop-off services, as part of an ongoing collaboration with LKQ on sustainability.
Kevan Wooden, CEO at LKQ UK & Ireland, said: “Millions of motorists rely on The AA every day – and LKQ sits at the heart of that trusted relationship. Extending our partnership for another six years reflects the strength of our relationship and the trust we’ve built together, as well as the confidence The AA has in our ability to keep innovating and adapting. We’re proud to support the business with the scale and reliability of our logistics network.”
Gary Brotherston, Key Account Manager at LKQ Euro Car Parts, added: “This extended agreement is about giving The AA’s patrols complete confidence that the right parts will always be close at hand. Through our integrated systems and nationwide distribution network, we make it easy for patrols to keep moving, with next-day access to everything from Bosch-branded batteries to essential service parts. It means they can stay focused on helping members at the roadside, knowing they have the backing of a supply chain built around consistency, reliability and scale.”
Dean Keeling, managing director of roadside services at The AA added: “We’ve renewed this partnership because of our confidence in LKQ’s ability to consistently deliver quality products and exceptional service. As we continue to evolve our offering to ensure motorists receive the best service, value for money and reliability, it’s clear that LKQ shares our commitment to give confidence to drivers, both now and in the future. We look forward to the continued success of our partnership.”
