The collaboration began with a well-attended event at Motorsport UK’s HQ, where over 50 young women were keen to discover opportunities in the sport. Members of the Un-Limited team, along with Motorsport UK CEO Hugh Chambers, engaged in meaningful discussions about the need for increased female representation and support.
Following the talk, six Girls on Track members participated in a hands-on work experience programme with Un-Limited Motorsport at Silverstone in September. The young women gained valuable insights into race operations, team dynamics, and the overall motorsport experience. Due to their impressive performance, two participants continued with Un-Limited Motorsport for the remainder of the season, further honing their skills. The team provided mentorship across six areas of motorsport, from PR to team management, allowing participants to tailor their experience to their career aspirations.
Looking ahead, Un-Limited Motorsport and Duckhams Racing plan to build on the success of these initiatives. More opportunities for young women in motorsport are currently being developed to create lasting change within the TOCA paddock and beyond.
Tom Grainger, Team Principal of Un-Limited Motorsport, said, “Our collaboration with Motorsport UK through the Girls on Track initiative is about more than just racing. It’s about creating a supportive environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background. This initiative is a step toward breaking down barriers and demonstrating that there’s a place for everyone in motorsport.”
