With superior brightness and integrated CANbus, the brand new OSRAM LEDriving HL ALLSEASON makes a compact LED replacement of conventional high and low beam bulbs.
These LED retrofit bulbs are 12V compatible, with an optimised beam pattern that reduces glare and includes a high speed fan to ensure maximum heat dissipation, providing more powerful performance.
It’s most unique feature is they have a switchable colour temperature from 6,000 kelvin (cool white) to 2,700 kelvin (warm white), which improves great visibility even in poor weather conditions, such as snow, rain or fog.
Further, the warm white colour could be used to create a stylish old fashioned look in classic cars. While cars post 1986 cannot use LED bulbs in their vehicles, unless it’s for off road use, classic vehicles are able to so.
The MOT inspection manual states: “Existing halogen headlamp units on vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1986 must not be converted to be used with high intensity discharge (HID) or light emitting diode (LED) bulbs. If such a conversion has been done, you must fail the headlamp for light source and lamp not compatible.”
Therefore, pre April 1986 vehicles are not subject to these restrictions, and subsequently, drivers can retrofit LEDs to their classic cars if they so wish.
The bulbs are easy to install with a wide range of suitable OSRAM accessories and come with instructions. OSRAM‘s LEDriving ALLSEASON bulbs are available in H4 and H7 ECE equivalent types.
The premium OSRAM quality and LED technology grant up to five times more lifetime compared to traditional halogen bulbs. As is common with OSRAM products, the packaging is plastic free to ensure environmental sustainability and they come with a five year guarantee.
