Top Technician, created by Aftermarket magazine in 2002, seeks to identify, develop and celebrate skills-excellence amongst the elite of UK garage technicians. Added in 2018, Top Garage seeks to shine a light on national examples of business best-practice.
Delphi will hold the showpiece finale of Top Technician, with the live assessments for both the semi-finals and final set to take place at their state-of-the-art technical training centre in Warwick.
“We successfully hosted the final for the first time last year,” said Luke Garratt, UK and Nordics Technical Services Manager at Delphi Technologies. “We’re excited to have been invited to do so again as we firmly believe Top Technician benefits independent workshops and showcases the true talent of UK technicians.”
Organisers Aftermarket magazine expect thousands of entries. Should the acclaim of being judged ‘the best’ not prove enticement enough, the 2022 prize fund reached a value of over £30,000 too.
Delphi believe the event fits perfectly with their aim of keeping technicians and garages moving ahead through continual skills development. A comprehensive offering includes diagnostics programmes, technical training in Warwick, online learning through the Delphi Academy with tips, hints, articles and ‘How To’ videos available at the new Master of Motion as well.
Top Technician and Top Garage 2023 is delivered in association with the Garage Equipment Association (GEA), the Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) and the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI). A strong list of established sponsors includes TechMan.
