Taking place at the Exhibition Centre in Liverpool’s docks on 7th October, ZF Aftermarket met with a number of garages and bodyshop technicians to provide the latest updates from its ever-growing ranges and share the technical skills and know-how required to service and maintain the vehicles of today and tomorrow.
Darren Lloyd, Network, Technical and Training Manager UK, was also on hand to head up a well-attended seminar titled, ‘Automatic Transmission: FAQs on Gearbox Oil Change’, providing technicians with some key insights into the technicalities around the topic.
More technical information was available directly on stand too, as visitors were able to talk directly to ZF [pro]Tech experts about membership benefits of its two industry programmes, ZF [pro]Tech plus & ZF [pro]Tech start, and find out more information on training courses available.
Membership includes access to ZF’s technical knowledge, discounted training courses and free access to OEM service campaign information across all systems, not just ZF. This operates via an online portal and technical helpline.
A one-off affordable payment offers garages membership to this. The online personalised information hub allows access to ZF’s technical knowledge, together with all-makes, all systems OEM service campaign information, traditionally available only through main dealers at considerable cost.
What’s more, garage and bodyshop technicians were also able to learn more about the WABCO Academy, a digital training platform supplying a broad portfolio of constantly updated eLearning courses.
As well as offering in-person sessions, it has been adapted to optimise training for a remote format, delivering everything a technician could learn in the classroom, in a safer and more timely manner, at a location infinitely more convenient.
Participants are actively involved and may share their experience and network with others as they would do normally, in a physical classroom. In doing so it creates something that is not only more time-efficient, but also more cost-effective, with greater sustainability.
Lloyd said: “It was great to speak directly with garages and share more knowledge about our products, brands and technical training at this hugely popular event. With automotive technology constantly evolving, it’s incredibly important that technicians are equipped and ready to service the modern vehicle, and it was encouraging to engage in so many exciting and thought-provoking conversations with garages that have a clear focus on the future.”
