Philips Xperion 6000 Flood Lights win awards

The three Philips Xperion 6000 Flood Lights recognised with prestigious Red Dot and IF accolades.

The Philiops Xperion 6000 Workshop light range has gathered several honours since its lauch. Now, the three Philips Xperion 6000 Flood series, lights launched late 2022, have also been honoured with two highly esteemed international design awards for 2023: The Red Dot and the IF Design Awards.

The Red Dot award recognizes products that demonstrate outstanding design and the Red Dot jurors praised the Xperion 6000 Floods’ functionality and ability to create an optimised working environment.

Concept, function, and adaptability are the areas in which the Philips Flood lights scored highest for the iF Design Award jurors. Both competitions attract thousands of entries annually and are judged by design experts worldwide.

The Red Dot seal of international design quality

The Red Dot Design Award, whose origins date back to the 1950s, is internationally recognised for highlighting the best in design and innovation. The Product Design category draws entries from sectors as diverse as fashion, robotics, and sports equipment. Submissions are evaluated on various criteria, including functional performance and aesthetics, with the jury awarding the prized Red Dot to products that set new standards in design.

The iF Design Award, a global symbol of excellent design

Celebrating skillful design for nearly 70 years, the iF Design Awards provide an arena for quality and creativity of design in a range of disciplines. Working in groups of three, jurors rate each entry against five specific benchmarks. In 2023 from a pool of over 10,000 products and projects, the Philips Xperion 6000 flood lights range was chosen as a clear winner in the tools category.

Philips Xperion 6000 Flood lights: Advanced lighting performance designed for professionals
Created with input from car mechanics, the three Philips Xperion 6000 Flood light series bring a unique smart-zoom function and high-performance LED illumination to the workshop market. The professional Philips Flood, Flood Audio, and Flood Mini work lights help mechanics and other auto professionals see almost anywhere, and offer the durability, flexibility, and battery lifetime expected from professional-grade equipment.

Every Philips Xperion 6000 Flood light offers a variable beam: a wide-angle homogeneous beam for illuminating large areas and a focused beam that concentrates illumination to small areas providing superior contrast and brightness that is ideal for detailed inspections.

With the Philips Xperion Flood or Flood Audio, professionals can remotely power the light on or off by simply waving a hand, and thanks to a smart motion-detection function, the light will respond. Their “smart handle” can be used as a support to hold the light up by itself; as a hook to hang the light from; can be screwed onto a tripod, or attached to any metal surface with its integrated magnets.

Commenting on the design honors, Andy Fengchao Guo, Lumileds Global Product Manager for LED Work Lights, said: “Receiving both of these esteemed awards in the same year is a remarkable accomplishment, which highlights the careful consideration and innovative design behind our Philips Xperion 6000 Flood light series. Based on customer feedback, those who utilise our Philips Xperion 6000 work lights appear to share the same sentiment as the judges”.
